HaaS

Technology enabled amenity for communities and residents to monitor, manage, and monetize home sharing.

My Role: Strategy / UX / Manage Design Deliverables

Audience

Multifamily residents who want participate and profit from home sharing.

Challenge

Create an experience that simplifies the ability for residents to list their units on Airbnb for up to 180 nights per year.

Create an experience that simplifies the ability for property owners to list their vacant and loss leader units on Airbnb year round.

COVID caused many of the companies in this space to close their doors. RealPage saw an opportunity to become a major player in this space. With that, it was directed by the CEO to have HaaS launched by end of Q2 2021.

Outcome

Designed an application that allows residents and property owners to sign up for either self-service or full-service home sharing programs.

Residents and owners can execute the following with Self-Service Home Sharing:
Manage their own listings, communicate with their guests, set their own pricing, and schedule their own cleanings – granting them the majority of the booking revenue.

Residents and owners can execute the following with Full-Service Home Sharing:
For a reduced percentage of the booking revenue, owners can choose to have these functions performed for them by HaaS.

HaaS was a very lean design approach with product managers and BA guiding the user flow and journey. I assisted with helping clean up some of those intentions and create a more simple flow for HaaS users. HaaS will be launched with out any user testing, due to demand that is projected as COVID regulations continue to lift in 2021. Future outcomes will to be to get some user testing and feedback on the version 1 of the application and how to better from that. We also plan on releasing a Moving ILS and Booking platform with in HaaS.
